Over 40 FFA members joined Montgomery County Farm Bureau Young Leaders on a tour of the Marcoot Jersey Creamery in Greenville on May 6th to learn about dairy cattle and dairy products. The students are enrolled in high school ag programs throughout the county and were participating in the Farm Bureau’s FFA Acquaintance Day program.
The tour included a visit to the milking parlor to view the new robotic milking systems, a stop in the calf barn to learn about caring for newborn calves, and cheese and ice-cream tasting. After the tour, students finished the program with lunch at the Farm Bureau office in Hillsboro.
