MCFB President Completes “ALOT Program”

Illinois Farm Bureau® created “Agricultural Leaders of Tomorrow” (ALOT), an agricultural leadership development program designed to give participants a head start on tackling tomorrow’s responsibilities.

Twenty-five IFB members representing sixteen counties have successfully completed the 38th ALOT program. Jay Niemann, President of Montgomery County Farm Bureau represented Montgomery County. The 2017 ALOT sessions were held every Tuesday starting on January 24 through March 23. Niemann was interviewed in December to determine if he would be chosen to participate in the program.  Sessions were held in Canton, Havana, Jacksonville, Springfield, and Bloomington.  Three overnight sessions were held in Canton, Springfield and Bloomington.  To date, over 1000 participants have graduated from the program.

The nine-week training program allows participants to study and develop leadership skills in the areas of communication, political process, agricultural economics, and global issues. The 2018 ALOT program will be held in Southern Illinois.
