Montgomery County Farm Bureau Young Leaders supported local food banks with their first ever “Fill a Ford Food Drive” at the Litchfield Walmart on March 23, 2019. The committee partnered with the store and Victory Lane Ford to accomplish the goal of filling a Ford Pickup Truck with groceries.
$291 in cash donations was collected and the equivalent of 7 grocery carts of food were donated. The Ford was filled! Food items were delivered to the Litchfield Food Pantry that afternoon and the cash will be distributed to the rest of the food pantries in the county in the coming weeks.
Montgomery County Farm Bureau Young Leaders and the Board of Directors plan to match the amount of cash collected, which will triple the cash funds to be donated. The committee would like to extend sincere thanks to all of the donors who helped make the food drive a success.
